Kaipara District is a region built on agriculture and infrastructure. With its coastlines and harbour, Kaipara is growing its reputation as a weekend tourist destination and a place where thriving communities are working together.

The Kaipara District Council is seeking to appoint a motivated General Manager Risk IT & Finance to support the Council in achieving the district's new vision of Thriving Communities Working Together, and directing the Council's journey towards becoming a high-performing organisation.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the General Manager Risk IT & Finance is tasked with leading the delivery of high quality financial and risk management processes along with IT services. With input into the strategic direction of Council through participation in Council and executive forums, you will work collaboratively with other executive team members to deliver against the LTP and Annual Plan. You will also lead the development of digital service channels and drive and deliver improved employee engagement and cultural change.

Success in this role is leading and supporting a successful team through working collaboratively within the Council along with external key stakeholder groups to strengthen these partnerships.

The Kaipara District Council is seeking someone with previous leadership experience in local government, together with a Chartered Accountant qualification and financial management experience at a senior level. As a face of the council, you will enjoy engaging with a wide variety of communities and involvement in the Kaipara District. You will be experienced at driving partnerships and be effective in stakeholder engagement. With accountability for leading strategic transformational projects, it is expected you will be forward thinking and adept at presenting to the Council and large groups.
