About the Role
As an Environmental Health Officer (Water & Food), you'll be responsible for coordinating and delivering environmental health compliance activities across the district. You'll work closely with our communities and stakeholders to ensure regulatory requirements are met while providing a service that is customer-focused and solutions-driven.
Key responsibilities include:
- Verifying food control plans and national programmes to ensure food operators meet safety and suitability standards.
- Carrying out monitoring and compliance activities under the Health Act 1956.
- Ensuring governance and customer services are delivered effectively and efficiently.
- Monitoring legislative changes and updating processes to maintain ongoing compliance.
- Engaging with the community and key stakeholders to address concerns and promote positive environmental health outcomes.
About You
We're looking for a proactive, organised professional who enjoys building relationships and delivering excellent service.
You'll bring:
- A diploma or degree in Environmental Health, Science, or a related field.
- Customer service and relationship management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to develop policy, processes, and procedures.
- Experience working within legislative and regulatory frameworks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to quickly adapt to new systems.
