We're looking for a confident, community-minded Bylaw Compliance Services Officer to help ensure the district plan, resource consent conditions, bylaws, and regulations are clearly understood and consistently followed. Whether you're educating the public, carrying out inspections, or handling investigations, you'll be helping keep Kaipara safe, fair, and functioning smoothly.

What You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
- Educate and support the community to proactively comply with key bylaws and legislation.
- Monitor and investigate issues across areas like noise control, parking, freedom camping, and wastewater.
- Write clear, easy-to-understand correspondence and reports that support voluntary compliance.
- Carry out site visits, inspections, and enforcement activities where needed, with a fair and professional approach.
- Contribute to service improvements, policy reviews, and team projects to help deliver better outcomes.
About You
To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
- Good working knowledge of key legislation and bylaws, including the RMA, LGA, Health Act, Freedom Camping Act, and relevant local bylaws.
- Experience in a monitoring or enforcement role, ideally within local government or a regulatory setting.
- Great people skills - you're calm under pressure, a confident communicator, and able to deal with difficult situations professionally.
- Competence with Microsoft Office and confident report writing and documentation.
- A high level of initiative, strong time management, and a solutions-focused mindset.
